Colonial Currency from the State of Virginia - Values and Pricing

There were more than 225 different types of colonial currency printed for Virginia when taking into account all the different issues and denominations.  This means that prices for colonial currency from Virginia can be as little as $30 or as much as several thousand.  The value all depends on the exact issue and the condition of the bill.

*** Please remember that there are reproductions of colonial currency from Virginia.  The most common is the $250 note from March 1, 1781.  The serial number on the reproduction note is 1165.  If the number on your bill is 1165, then what you have is a reproduction and it has no collector value. ***

The rarity of Virginia colonial currency printed between 1772 and 1782 just depends on the exact series and the denomination.  It isn’t always just about rarity.  Eye appeal and who signed the note are also important.  These can be broken down into several different issue/payable dates:
